WHAT
YOU GET TO DO!
The Payroll & Benefits
Administrator is responsible for supporting Payroll & Benefits functions as well as responding to inquiries from staff
in these areas. The main daily activity of this role is the processing of
payroll twice a month for all three stores (Charlesglen Toyota, Lexus of Royal
Oak and Fifth Avenue Volkswagen). This position requires comprehensive
knowledge of Payroll laws and regulations.
This
role requires an individual who is an experienced, mature, self-starter who is
detailed and takes ownership of this key role in our automotive business.
This position requires an individual with post-secondary education as
well as a completed (or in progress) Payroll Compliance Practitioner certificate
Responsibilities:
- Prepare payroll for 3 stores (Charlesglen Toyota, Lexus of Royal Oak and Fifth Avenue Volkswagen) on a semi-monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Maintain employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, and changes.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with dealership policies and employment standards.
- Prepare and remit TIER 1 payroll source deductions.
- Enroll, update and maintain Canada Life benefits for all staff
- RRSP submissions semi-monthly for 3 stores
- Prepare and file annual T4, T4a and T2200 forms.
- Prepare ROE’s for terminated employees.
- Respond to questions related to payroll and benefits admin. by dealership staff.
- Assist Accounting department with various duties (including but not limited to Accounts Payable).
- Feedback to Controller on “anomalies” in payroll transactions.
- Collaborate with accounting staff and department managers to resolve discrepancies and maintain accuracy.
- Other Duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
- Diploma or certification in Payroll/Accounting (PCP designation an asset).
- 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the automotive or dealership industry.
- Proficiency with payroll software (Clarity System).
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and Alberta payroll regulations and compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with dealership accounting systems (PBS Systems) is a strong asset.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills.
